Directions (1-10) Each of the questions below consist of a question & two statements numbered I & II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read both the statements & give answer.

i)If the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in

statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question

ii) If the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in

statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question

iii)If the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the

question.

iv)If the data in both the statement I & II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

v)If the data in both statement I & II together are necessary to answer the question

1)What is the total no. of students in the class?

I)The average weight of the students of the class is 61.08 kg. The average weight of the male students is 63 kg and the average weight of the female students is 59 kg. The difference between the number of male students and the number of female students in the class is 3

II)The ratio of the number of male students to the number of female students in the class is 13 :12

2)What is the present age of Sabita?

I)The ratio of the present ages of Sabita and her mother is 7 :16

II)The ratio of 1/2 of Sabita’s present age to 1/8 of mother’s present age is 7: 4

3)What is the length of the diagonal of a rectangle?

I)The length of the rectangle is 120 % more than its breadth.

II)The perimeter of the rectangle is 32m. The difference between the length and the breadth of the rectangle is 6m

4)What is the value of sum of squares of two numbers?

I)The sum of both the numbers is 128

II)The HF and LCM of the two numbers are 8 & 504 respectively

5)What is the cost price of a chair?

i)The per cent profit made when the chair is sold for Rs1054 is twice as much as when it is sold for Rs 952

II)The market price of the chair is Rs 1105. If a discount of 20 % is given on the marked price, the profit gained is 4 %

6)what is the ratio of the saving of P, Q, R?

I)The expenditure of P,Q,R are in the ratio  7 :9 : 12

II)The income of P.Q.R in the ratio 12: 14: 13

7)What is the rate of interest per annum

I)The difference between the amount of compound interest and simple interest accrued on an amount of Rs 60000 at the end of three years is Rs 1860

Ii)The simple interest after 3 years for Rs 40000 is Rs 9000

I)The train crosses a signal post in 18 seconds

II)The train with speed Y km/ph crosses another train 200 m long coming from the opposite direction at 80 km/ hr in 20 seconds

9)What is the speed of a car?

I)The car covers a distance of 160 km in 5 hours

II) The ratio of the speed of the car to that of a bus is 2: 3

10)What is Mr Agarwall’s present income

I)Mr agarwall’s income increases by 10 % every year

II)His income will increase by Rs 3500 this year

So

X= Y * 5/18 * 18

X= 5Y                    Y= X/5

In second statement

X + 200= Y * 20

X +200= X/5 * 20

From these equations we find the length of first train.

I)The car takes 2 hours more than the train to cover a distance of 264 km

II)The train moves 22 km/hr faster than the car

I)The average weight of the class is 52 kg

II)If two students weighting 44 kg & 52 kg leave the class and are replaced by two students weighing 64 kg and 56 kg, the average weight of the class increased by 1.2 kg

18)Raman mixed two types of rice for selling the mixture in his shop. What is the quantity (in kg) of the first type of rice in the mixture?

I)The price of the first type of rice is Rs 36 per kg. Raman earned a profit of 20 % by selling the mixture Rs 57.60 per kg

II)The price of the second type of rice Rs 50 per kg. The difference between the quantity of the first type of rice and the second type of rice in the mixture is 3 kg

19)What was the percentage of discount given on the marked price of table?

I)15 % profit was earned by selling the table for Rs 14490. If there was no discount, the profit percentage would have been 20 %

II)The cost price of the table is Rs 12600

20)What is the area of the circle (in sq cm)

I)The diameter of the circle is 90 cm less than its circumference

II)The radius of the circle is equal to the length of a rectangle whose perimeter is 78 cm

Salary of P is (75680 *5)- (98545 + 69020) = Rs 210835

(7x +5)/(5x+5) = 6/5

From I & II

Let the distance between Kolkata & Delhi be D km & speed of train B is X km/hr

Then D/X= 18 hours (from II)

From I, speed of train A = (X * 60)/100= 3X/5

So, time taken by A = D/(3X/5) = 5D/X = (5 *18)/3 = 30 years

So, speed of car = 264/(T+2)

Speed of the train = 264/T

∴ 264/T – 264/(T+2) = 22

So, speed of the train 66 km/hr

From II- New average = 52 + 1.2= 53.2 kg

I & II, Let the number of students be X

Then total age = 52 * X

Total New age = 53.2 * X

Now 53.2 X -52X = 64 + 56-44-52 = 24

X= 20

Hence, we find the number of students from both the statements together

Hence, from this we find the area of the circle

We could not find the value of l
